By the end of the year Amazon will release 8 new Alexa powered devices including a microwave, amplifier, receiver, subwoofer, and an in-car gadget. With Alexa-powered devices, Amazon is entering more and more customers lives and maintaining a persistent presence to the detriment of its competitors. Through the mobile app, Prime video, and smart home devices, Amazon is infiltrating the home of customers and making purchasing as easy as saying “Alexa, order [insert product]”. With voice orders, Amazon will select the product with the “Amazon’s Choice” badge for that specific keyword and send the product to customers. Thus, optimized text content (titles, bullets, keywords, etc.) is becoming even more important.
According to a study by Global Market Insights, the smart speaker market is expected to exceed $30 Billion by 2024. In 2018, Amazon is estimated to be on target to capture 24.5% of this market.
