Amazon Warehouse workers strike in Europe on Black Friday

On Black Friday more than 2,400 Amazon Fulfillment center employees across Germany, Italy, Spain and the U.K went on strike. According to British trade union GMB, hundreds of employees in the UK across 5 different FC locations are holding protests. GMB Secretary general Time Roache was quoted as saying
“The conditions our members at Amazon are working under are frankly inhuman”
In a statement, Amazon reiterated its commitment to providing a safe working environment, while downplaying the impact of the strike saying:
“We are a fair and responsible employer. We believe in continuous improvement across our network and maintain an open and direct dialogue with our associates… We have invested over 27 billion EUR and created over 75,000 permanent jobs across Europe since 2010. These are good jobs with highly competitive pay, full benefits, and innovative training programs.”
