Target Launches 3rd Party Marketplace

In a move to gain ground on Amazon’s marketplace, Target has rolled out an expanded 3rd party marketplace called “Target+”. This invite only platform features a carefully curated selection including products from sporting goods company Mizuno and toy maker Kaplan. Target plans to carefully expand the selection over time but does not expect to open the platform to all 3rd party sellers. By working with carefully selected brands and limiting selection Target seeks to avoid some of the backlash Amazon has received over the last few years for offering products that promote white supremacy, hate speech, and counterfeit goods. Target says these new 3rd party offers won’t differ from regular selection, REDCard discounts and free shipping will still apply.
