Prime Day deal submission deadline

The deadline for submitting Prime Day deals is rapidly approaching. Prime Day is an excellent time to pick up sales on Amazon, so it is important that your product detail pages are ready and your deals are submitted on time. If you haven’t already, it may be a good chance to ask yourself, are you ready for prime day?

Prime Day Deal submissions opened April 1 and will close May 17. In order to be eligible for Prime Day, the deals must be submitted and accepted by May 17.

  • Only one Lightning Deal per product may be submitted using the checkbox option.
  • The product must be projected to sell more than our minimum customer demand as determined by Amazon’s proprietary forecasting model.
  • The product must have a rating of 3 stars or higher, with at least 5 reviews, on the date of submission.

Any Deals submitted or still pending approval after May 17, 2019 will not be considered for Prime Day. Deals scheduled for Prime Day will be visible on Vendor Central on July 2, 2019. Expect to receive POs for approved deals at the end of May and beginning of June.

Important Notes
  • To allow Amazon to consider placing purchase orders (POs) at a lower product cost instead of paying per unit sold, select “I want Amazon to evaluate my deal and consider placing purchase orders at a reduced promotional cost” when you enter your promotion details. Do not select the box if you prefer to pay per unit sold.
  • Amazon retains the right to reschedule or cancel the promotion at any time. If your promotion is not approved within 7 days, it will be cancelled by Amazon. If this happens and the May 17 deadline has not passed, resubmit your promotion ASAP.
  • Starting 14 days prior to the start date of your Lightning Deal and up until 24 hours before the scheduled run time, Amazon will notify you if the per-unit funding for your Lightning Deal does not support a low enough price to meet the Deal Requirements. You can edit and resubmit your promotion with the required funding amount by selecting “Edit” on the promotion’s detail page. If you do not provide the necessary funding, your Lightning Deal will not run.
  • You could receive a notification as late as 24 hours before the start date, so it is important to check your email to ensure that your Deal runs. The final price of the promotional products will be determined at Amazon’s sole discretion, as Amazon sets its retail prices independently.
